hey guys and girls,
my apologies for not attending youth group last tues, had alot on. how was pink picnic, i called during the day to see how you were getting on, i wish i could have been there to support you all.
things v. hectic at moment, packing all stuff to take back to uni and move into my new house. this summer has been brilliant in terms of coming to youth group.
its great to feel a real part of the group now, as ive become more involved in your work, projects and got to know alot of you very well.
secondly, the growth in numbers of members is fantastic. i look back and wish i had discovered this group when i was just coming out and things seemed so scary and lonely. i think its brilliant to have such committed and dedicated LGBT young members attending.
London Pride- it may suprise some of you but this was my first EVER pride! and to be walking in the parade with our group at my first pride was really something. i felt overwhelmed by the celebration of diversity, and for one of the first times i felt i wasnt in a minority and i felt safe in myself.
Paul Patrick project- this was interesting for me personally as I had never come across Paul and his work before. as part of my research i found paul and his work and life to be very inspirational; this being backed up by Sue Sanders visit and the way she spoke of Paul and his beliefs with such admiration and passion. we have a lot to thank people like this.
Thank you to all of you for making my summer all that more worthwhile, this week may well be my last youth group for a few months, but I will definitely be coming if im ever home on a tuesday and during holidays.
Love to you all, we shall say goodbyes tuesday
